Review for Like Crazy (film)

Like Crazy is a romantic drama that was released in 2011. Lead actors are Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones. The film was directed by Drake Doremus.


I decided to watch one of the six movies I got from my local library and Like Crazy was on top of my pile of DVDs. This is not a late night film that will put you to sleep. It pulls you into the romance of the film and all the bad shit that goes with it. Anna and Jacob meet, fall in love, do some things that pull them apart, and then they come back together again (more than once). I found myself loving these characters as they were falling for each other. Then I started to hate them when their relationship fell apart. All of the back and forth made me wanna slam their heads together so that maybe they'd get some common sense and work it out. The movie showed love in a realistic way, with two people who have no idea how to keep a relationship going when things get rough. There is a lot of bailing and "moving on" between these two love birds. They just can't keep it together.

I'd say that people who love romance in general will like this film. Depending if you're optimistic or pessimistic, the ending is fitting for either outlook. I watched it all the way through without wanting to give up on it. However, it's not something I wanna watch again and again.
